The game of craps is the most exciting and social of casino games. When people think of a dice flying across the craps table, they generally picture crowds of laughing and excited folks rooting for the shooter. The adrenaline and excitement at the craps table is infectious and gives the game most of its charm and attraction.

Craps Odds

Some of the bets on the craps table offer the house an advantage of less than 1%, making this one of the best casino bets. But other bets at the craps table offer the house an advantage of over 15%, which makes it one of the worst casino bets. This dichotomy also adds to the game's appeal.

Many casinos allow odds bets of double, triple, five, ten or even one hundred times the amount of a pass-line bet. They offers these kinds of odds to attract more players to the craps tables, and it works like a charm. The house advantage decreases SIGNIFICANTLY based on this increase in odds, as outlined below:

Single Odds	0.8%
Double Odds	0.6%
Triple Odds	0.5%
Five Times Odds	0.3%
Ten Times Odds	0.2%
Twenty Times Odds	0.1%
One Hundred Times Odds	0.02%

You need a big bankroll to play at some of these levels. And finding a casino at the higher end of that chart can be tough; Binion's Horseshoe in downtown Las Vegas used to offer 100 times odds, but I'm not sure if that's still the case or not.

About the Dice

Play Craps with standard dice which have six sides. What you might not already know is that each number on a die, when added to the number on the opposite side of the die, totals 7. The six is opposite the one, the five is opposite the two, and the four is opposite the three. Crooked dice aren't set up like this, and if a boxman or player suspects cheating, that's the first thing they'll check on the dice.
